Abbott Miller's Seminar

Pentagram's Abbott Miller Seminar consisted in exploring three phases of design: the first dealt with the subject of tools and the human being, and took place from August to December; the second dealt with ornaments and the human being, lasting two months; and the third stage, from March to the end of the Spring 2021 semester, the theme of the human body was worked on.

For a year, from August 2020, a total of 17 students selected from the academic programs of Graphic Design, Arts, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Animation and Special Effects, Architecture and Engineering in Sustainable Innovation and Energy worked through a critical and reflective attitude, openness to research and collaboration, to develop design proposals using cutting-edge technological resources.

"Among the projects, the following stood out: Ulter, the scent device, a multisensory communication project, as a solution to modern communication, studying the possibilities of new methods of interaction through the senses; (...) Solid Malleability, which is a special lattice structure applied as a malleable surface, developed based on the Mexican identity in structures of this material, registered in the town of Hualahuises, Nuevo León.See-Through, "a mask to express yourself", which is made up of a technology that interacts with human behavior, based on hundreds of interactive LED lights that light up according to the sounds and movements of people in the environment."
